Release Date: September 16, 2003
In June 1999, New York's first slop pop band Poolsville recorded a full length album of songs. All of the tracks were completed in a marathon recording session of four days.
Poolsville disbanded in 2000 shortly before the album was to be released on CD. Both of the band's founding collaborators, myself and Joey Fortuna, had been making music together for nearly fifteen years and in the end our lives had moved in differnet directions. But thankfully, the band did complete the mixing and mastering of the songs and after several years we decided to make the recording available. We also were able to recount memories from each of the band members about the songs and their place in the clubs we played in NYC and other East Coast venues. And now the album is available at this site for free download.
History of the Band Poolsville
Between 1996 and 2000, Poolsville was seen in New York's Lower East Side and in Williamsburg (before it was overrun with trust fund kids) by thousands of enthusiastic club goers at places like The Mercury Lounge, Brownies, Arlene Grocery and Under Acme. Joey Fortuna and Mike Rinzel were actually one of the acts booked at Shane McGowen's Arlene Grocery in the fall of 1996, before Shane sold it to start a new Sine.
This is Pornographic World in its entirety. Download at will. Play with the track order. Please enjoy these songs. They were a labor of love recorded and produced by the band at Vibromonk Studios in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Sincerely, Mike Rinzel
